With over 18 years of experience across the UN system and non-governmental organizations, Ziad brings extensive expertise in humanitarian preparedness and response, team leadership and change management, program strategy and implementation, focused on advocating for the rights and wellbeing of the most vulnerable people, specifically populations on the move.
Most recently, Ziad served as Head of the Gaziantep Office for cross-border operations, where he led UNFPA’s response to northwest Syria following the devastating 2023 earthquake. Prior to that, he spent a decade with UNICEF, managing complex humanitarian responses, leading field offices, and local community-based initiatives in Lebanon, Ethiopia, Libya, and Jordan.
